The culture of Lebanon and the Lebanese people emerged from various civilizations over thousands of years. It was home to the Phoenicians and was subsequently conquered and occupied by the Assyrians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Persians, the Arabs, the Crusaders, the Ottoman Turks and the French.

This variety is reflected in Lebanon's diverse population, composed of different religious groups, and features in the country's festivals, musical styles, literature, cuisine and architecture.

 The numerous churches, Convents, Shrines & Basilicas spread around all the country from its utmost South where the village of Qana witnessed the Christ 1st miracle, through Maghdouche, where the virgin Mary waited for Jesus Christ while he preached in Sidon, till its extreme North where the village of

Kobayat & the convent of Saydet El Kalaa built by the Jesuits during the 19th century.
